This role is crucial for translating architectural and engineering designs into detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in industry-standard detailing software and possess a strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes and best practices. As a fully remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from your home office, contributing to projects across various locations. Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop drawings, erection plans, and connection designs for structural steel projects using CAD software.
• Interpret architectural and structural engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
• Ensure all detailing complies with relevant industry standards (e.g., AISC) and project requirements.
• Generate material lists (BOMs) and CNC files for fabrication.
• Coordinate with engineers, fabricators, and erectors to resolve design issues and ensure constructability.
• Review and approve shop drawings submitted by third-party detailers when applicable.
• Maintain clear and organized drawing files and project documentation.
• Participate in project meetings, providing technical input and solutions.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all deliverables to minimize errors and rework.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in detailing software and industry practices.
• Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders in a remote setting.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Structural Steel Detailer.
• Proficiency in 3D structural steel detailing software (e.g., Tekla Structures, SDS/2, Advance Steel).
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Excellent spatial visualization and technical drawing skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, particularly in a remote team environment.
• Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines independently.
• Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) principles is a plus.
• Experience with various types of steel structures.
