Job summary

Grey High School in South Africa is seeking an experienced Stringed Instrument Specialist and Educator to join the Music Department from Term 1 2027. This is a full-time SGB post for Grades 8 to 12, with responsibilities in tuition, ensemble training, conducting and festival coordination.

The ideal candidate will have advanced competency in upper strings, working knowledge of lower strings to Grade 6, and a proven track record with strong references. Piano accompaniment is a plus.

Qualifications

• Advanced competency in upper strings.
• Working knowledge of lower strings to Grade 6 level.
• Relevant experience, good references and an established track record.
• Ability to accompany at the piano would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual tuition in strings.
• Train String Ensemble and conduct performances.
• Prepare students for external performance examinations.
• Coordinate tour excursions and Festival events.
