Placements24 is seeking a strategic Telecom Infrastructure Planner for our Upington operations. You will assess needs, plan capacity, and design future layouts to support growing demand in the region.

The role requires strong knowledge of fiber optic and wireless networks, solid analytical skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable infrastructure plans. Collaboration with engineering and deployment teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in telecommunications network design and planning.
• In-depth knowledge of fiber optic networks, wireless communication systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Experience with network planning tools and CAD software is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term strategic plans for network infrastructure growth and upgrades.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new infrastructure projects.
• Design network architectures and layouts, specifying equipment, capacity, and routing strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering and deployment teams to ensure plans are practical and executable.
• Analyze network traffic data and performance metrics to forecast future capacity needs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all planning activities.
