Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Supply Chain Consultant to advise on optimizing client supply chains in Richards Bay and across South Africa. You will analyze networks, design improvements, and lead implementations to cut costs and boost efficiency while collaborating with client teams and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has extensive supply chain experience, with strong analytics, leadership and communication abilities, and familiarity with SA logistics. Remote work options supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management or consulting.
• Expertise in network design, inventory optimization, procurement and logistics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication, presentation and client relationship management skills.
• Proven experience leading projects and managing cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with supply chain planning software and analytical tools.
• Understanding of global supply chain trends and South African landscape advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client supply chain operations including logistics, warehousing and procurement.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs and raise service levels.
• Analyze demand and supply patterns to optimize inventory and forecasting.
• Design and recommend network optimization solutions for distribution and transport.
• Lead projects focused on supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing.
• Utilize data analytics to identify KPIs and drive performance improvements.
• Collaborate with clients to implement new supply chain technologies and processes.
• Manage project teams and ensure on-time delivery of engagements.
• Present findings and recommendations to client stakeholders at various levels.
