About the Role

Our client, a major player in the industrial sector, is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their team in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This role is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies for key raw materials and operational supplies, driving significant cost savings and value creation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global supply markets, advanced negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain robust supplier relationships. This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility between working remotely and from our Richards Bay office. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and finance departments to align sourcing activities with business objectives. Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies that resulted in significant cost savings.
• Expertise in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market intelligence.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• Experience with global sourcing is highly advantageous.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa and reside within commuting distance of Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal or be willing to adopt a hybrid schedule.
