Job summary

Barloworld Equipment in Springbok is seeking a Planning and Coordination Specialist to manage repair, service and maintenance jobs for a team of Service Artisans. You will ensure adherence to OEM standards (e.g., Caterpillar, Perkins) and meet customer requirements through precise planning and control.

Your duties include scheduling and monitoring job progress, budgeting for labour, parts and outs, issuing instructions, handling warranty processes, and following up on quotes and service reports.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in diesel or heavy earthmoving mechanic disciplines.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
• SAP knowledge advantageous.
• Good communication and customer relations skills.
• Team player, willing to work overtime.
• Problem solving, technical competence, and mechanical reasoning.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding service work order processes and attention to detail.
• Business and financial acumen, influencing and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling repair, service and maintenance jobs for a team of Service Artisans to OEM standards and customer requirements.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor job progress and WIP using a planning system.
• Plan cost elements on service jobs (Labour, Parts and Bought outs).
• Achieve maximum productivity and profitability.
• Apply warranty policies and procedures, including service warranty decisions.
• Issue job instructions to and dispatch artisans (briefing).
• Initiate and control Bought Out requests.
• Follow up on parts, quotes and service reports.
• Assist with achievement of KPIs.
• Assist with cost centre expense control and WIP management.
• Apply warranty policies and procedures, including warranty investigations.
• Resolve internal and external customer queries.
