Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a busy construction team in Benoni. You will manage financial aspects from cost estimation and tendering to final accounts, ensuring profitability and mitigating risks.

The role requires construction economics knowledge, contract law, and meticulous detail oriented collaboration with project managers and site teams. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field and at least 3 years of experience,

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
Proficiency in cost estimation software and standard contract forms.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities for new construction projects.
Manage tendering: evaluate bids and negotiate with subcontractors.
Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms.
Monitor expenditure, track costs, and prepare financial reports.
Identify and manage financial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Resolve contractual and commercial issues during construction.
