Job summary

Humankind is seeking a seasoned pricing leader to drive costing, pricing and tender profitability. You will build auditable models, lead the pricing workstream for tenders, and provide management with clear financial insights from bid to post-implementation.

You will challenge assumptions, protect margins and coach a team of Commercial/Pricing Analysts, ensuring audit-ready documentation and robust governance across the pricing lifecycle.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or CIMA certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Management Accounting, Economics or Engineering.
• 5–8 years’ experience in cost accounting, pricing, commercial finance or tender pricing.
• Proven experience pricing complex, multi-cost-driver tenders.
• Advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis skills.
• Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and an audit-ready mindset.
• Ability to challenge operational inputs and influence stakeholders with evidence.
• Experience managing and developing analysts.
• Exposure to logistics, supply chain or asset-intensive operations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build auditable costing and pricing models for tenders, renewals and proposals.
• Lead pricing workstream for tenders, RFPs and RFQs with inputs from Operations, Finance, BD and Legal.
• Run scenario and sensitivity analysis to quantify pricing risk and margin exposure.
• Assess returns using ROI, IRR, NPV, payback and margins; compare forecast to post-implementation results.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure compliance with guardrails and authority delegations.
• Maintain pricing dashboards and present insights to non-financial stakeholders.
• Manage, coach and develop Commercial/Pricing Analysts.
