Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in buying/procurement role
• Mining industry experience advantageous
• Able to obtain quotations, negotiate prices, place orders and arrange couriers to ensure on-time delivery
• Knowledge of mining equipment and components
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
• Computer literacy including Excel and purchasing systems
• Experience arranging couriers, collections and transport
• Ability to manage multiple orders and follow up on deliveries
• Source suppliers for mining equipment, spare parts and consumables
• Purchase mechanical parts and tools for servicing and repairing vehicles

Responsibilities

• Source and procure mining equipment, spare parts, consumables, fuels, chemicals, PPE and services for mining operations
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, tenders and proposals
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate processing in procurement system
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and payment terms
• Ensure timely placement of orders to prevent operational disruptions
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
• Monitor supplier performance against service levels and delivery commitments
• Forecast procurement requirements with operational teams
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing
