Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in buying/procurement, with mining industry experience preferred. Strong Excel, supplier management, and budgeting acumen are essential to support operations and compliance.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate, strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Clean criminal record and own reliable transport.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure mining equipment, spare parts, consumables, fuels, chemicals, PPE, and services.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, tenders, and proposals.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure processing within the procurement system.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and service agreements to optimise value.
• Ensure timely placement of orders to prevent operational disruptions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers and service providers.
• Monitor supplier performance against service levels, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with stores and warehouse personnel to maintain inventory levels.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Assist in contract administration and renewal monitoring.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with engineering, maintenance, operations, finance to understand needs.
• Maintain procurement records and generate expenditure reports.
