Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) invites applications for the position of Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Technology Station: Clothing and Textiles (TSCT). The Manager will align operations with funding bodies, oversee financial governance, and drive industry partnerships.

The role focuses on strategy, sustainability, and delivering impact through collaborations with SMMEs, postgraduate students, and industry partners.

Qualifikationen

• Masters in Clothing Management, Textile Science, Design or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years’ working experience in industry or academia.
• Appropriate knowledge of the clothing/textiles value chain.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem (SMMEs, industry, government, education institutions).
• Engage with multiple funders from proposal development, governance, monitoring and reporting.

Aufgaben

• Manage day-to-day operations of TSCT.
• Secure funding or co-funding from external sources.
• Promote community participation, linkages, outreach and industry liaison.
• Deliver client projects including reporting and financial reporting.
• Mentor staff and supervise undergraduate, honours and postgraduate students.
• Contribute to research outputs through participation in research activities and lecturing.
• Identify and manage risks and ensure compliance with funders.
• Any other duties assigned per operational requirements.
