Job summary

Cape Peninsula University of Technology invites applications for a Lecturer in Operations Management to teach and facilitate learning for NQF Levels 7 and 8. The role includes curriculum development, industry alignment, and active participation in research and community engagement.

The successful candidate will contribute to departmental and Faculty teaching initiatives, participate in research activities, and support postgraduate supervision within a dynamic higher education setting in Cape

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field aligned to Operations Management or Supply Chain.
• An underpinning qualification in operations management or related field.
• Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in higher education.
• Experience with hybrid teaching models (face-to-face, online, blended).
• Willingness to develop and update curriculum to industry standards and SAQA descriptors.

Responsibilities

• Lecture undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in Operations Management.
• Compile subject guides in line with university guidelines.
• Use effective teaching methods and technologies; identify at-risk students and intervene.
• Administer attendance and assessment records; manage syllabi and assessments.
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance; engage in research and postgraduate supervision.
• Liaise with industry for work-integrated learning and partnerships.
