Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Purchasing Officer in Rustenburg to manage the purchase of raw materials, equipment, and services for production facilities. You will negotiate terms with suppliers, monitor inventory, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in an industrial purchasing or procurement role.
• Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and purchasing software; strong inventory management knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day purchasing of industrial raw materials, equipment and services.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability and delivery performance.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable conditions.
• Process purchase requisitions, generate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor databases.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
• Resolve discrepancies or issues related to purchase orders, deliveries or supplier invoices.
• Conduct market analysis to stay informed about pricing trends and new supply sources.
