Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Procurement Manager for our industrial manufacturing client in Pretoria. You will lead strategic procurement initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost-efficiency across the supply chain.

The role requires a strong background in industrial procurement, leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset to optimize procurement processes within a demanding production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of procurement experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Proven contract negotiation and supplier management experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material requirements.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for industrial supplies and raw materials.
• Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and risks to inform procurement strategies.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
• Manage the procurement budget and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Oversee procure-to-pay processes, ensuring compliance with policies.
