Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced HSE Business Partner to lead HSE strategy and governance across Durban and Cape Town sites. The role partners with Site Leads to embed safety into daily operations and ensure compliance with South African legislation.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Safety and/or Environmental Management and/or Risk Management or Equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a warehousing and distribution environment in a full-time health & safety and environment role, across multiple sites.
• Certificate in safety management (SHEMTRAC, SAMTRAC, NEBOSH IGC, etc)
• Professional registration with SAIOSH and SACPCMP (Advantageous).
• Practical understanding of ISO 14001, 9001 & 45001.
• Extensive knowledge of OHSA and NEMA.

Responsibilities

• Drive implementation of the HSE strategy across assigned sites.
• Partner with Site Leads to embed HSE into daily operations.
• Lead risk assessments, SWIs, and MOC requirements.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and SA legislation.
• Conduct HSE audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Monitor HSE indicators and report performance to management.
• Coach and develop Site Leads and Safety Champions.
