Department of Co-Operative Governance and Traditional Affairs in Johannesburg is seeking a Deputy Director: Demand and Acquisition to lead demand planning, procurement and supplier engagement within the Supply Chain Management directorate.

The role requires matric plus NQF 7 in SCM/Logistics with 3–5 years at Assistant Director level, strong policy knowledge, SAP experience, and a valid driver’s licence. The post offers an all-inclusive package with aligned performance expectations.

Qualifications

• Matric plus NQF level 7 in Supply Chain Management / Logistics or relevant qualification is required.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience at Assistant Director level in Demand Management environment.
• Competencies include knowledge of legislative and policy frameworks, PFMA, PPPFA and related SCM practices.

Responsabilités

• Manage the demand and acquisition of goods and services, including annual demand plans and alignment to departmental plans.
• Monitor procurement transactions and manage stores and inventory in line with policies.
• Oversee bid adjudication processes and provide secretarial support to the Bid Adjudication Committee.
• Ensure timely payments, invoicing, and compliance with internal control frameworks.
• Coordinate with other directorates to align budgets with procurement plans.
