Job summary

GVW Group in Cape Town, South Africa, seeks a Commodity Buyer to manage sourcing activities, develop supplier partnerships and lead negotiations to support production and projects. You will execute procurement strategies, RFQ management, supplier development, and continuous improvement initiatives to enable cost efficiencies.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and other teams, delivering sourcing recommendations and robust supplier performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Source components and identify qualified suppliers.
• Manage RFQ processes and supplier evaluations.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Support supplier development and performance improvement activities.
• Partner with Engineering teams to support commercial decision-making.
• Resolve supply chain and supplier-related issues.
• Drive cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.
• Prepare sourcing recommendations and business cases.
• Monitor and report on supplier performance metrics.
