Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Category Manager specializing in Indirect Procurement for its Port Elizabeth operations. You will develop and implement category strategies for non-direct spend, drive value, and manage supplier performance across IT, Marketing, and Facilities.

You will lead sourcing initiatives, negotiate complex agreements, and manage key supplier relationships within your designated categories in a hybrid work setting that combines in-office collaboration with remote

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years procurement experience with indirect spend.
• Proven track record in developing category strategies and achieving cost savings.
• Strong negotiation, analytics, and project management skills.
• Experience with e-sourcing tools and P2P systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend areas (IT, Marketing, Facilities).
• Lead sourcing projects, including RFI/RFP development, supplier evaluation, and negotiation.
• Manage key supplier relationships with performance monitoring and contract compliance.
• Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet business requirements.
• Stay informed on market trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting indirect procurement.
