Job summary

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) invites applications for the role of Manager: Business Intelligence and Data Analytics in Institutional Planning. This senior position leads the BI function, delivering timely, actionable insights to guide strategy, planning and performance monitoring across the university.

The incumbent will manage the BI team, ensure data governance, oversee the data warehouse, and drive data-informed decision making at an institutional level.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in BI, Data Analytics or related quantitative field (NQF 8).
• Eight+ years in BI/analytics in higher education or related sector.
• Three+ years in a management role with stakeholder engagement.
• Advanced skills in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, R or Python).

Responsibilities

• Lead the BI strategy development and implementation in line with data governance frameworks.
• Design and enhance BI systems to support strategic planning and performance monitoring.
• Provide executive insights through advanced analyses, forecasts and dashboards.
• Oversee the data warehouse integrity and reporting reliability across the university.
• Deliver end-user training and maintain reporting tools like Power BI and other enterprise systems.
• Manage BI projects, budgets, and relationships with service providers and vendors.
