Job summary

Career27 in Cape Town seeks a Senior Manager Reporting to lead the enterprise reporting function, delivering trusted BI outputs to empower decisions. You will oversee strategy, governance, and delivery of reports and dashboards across operational and strategic use.

Lead a team of BI developers and data visualisation specialists, drive self-service BI adoption, define KPI definitions, and ensure data integrity and platform performance across Power BI and SAP BW/Analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data/Business Analytics or related field.
• Postgraduate qualification in Business Analytics or MBA with BI focus preferred.
• 8+ years in BI/reporting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise reporting strategy, standards, and governance aligned to business needs.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of BI developers and data visualisation specialists.
• Oversee the delivery of accurate, consistent, and timely reports and dashboards for operational and strategic use.
• Partner with business units to define and maintain KPI definitions and reporting requirements.
• Drive adoption of self-service BI tools and data literacy across the organisation.
• Optimise reporting platforms (Power BI, SAP Analysis for Office, and others) for performance and usability.
• Partner with the Data Engineering team to guide the design and maintenance of data warehouses (SAP BW, Snowflake), data models, views, and queries to support operational reporting across reporting tools.
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and performance of reporting tools.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with governance and privacy standards.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, and business stakeholders to ensure reporting needs are met.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and IT to ensure BI infrastructure meets scalability, security, and availability requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee relevant licenses and support agreements.
