Placements24 is seeking a specialized Drainage Engineer to join their hybrid team in the Northern Cape. You will design and implement stormwater and drainage systems for infrastructure projects, applying hydrology, hydraulics, and SuDS to reduce flood risk and manage urban runoff.

The role combines remote design work with site visits and client meetings, requiring 3-5 years of drainage experience and a Civil Engineering degree focused on Water Resources or Hydrology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources or Hydrology.
• 3–5 years of experience in drainage design and stormwater management.
• Proficiency in relevant hydrological and hydraulic modelling software.
• Understanding of South African environmental legislation and drainage standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive stormwater and drainage systems.
• Perform hydrological and hydraulic analyses for urban and rural development projects.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and design reports for drainage infrastructure.
• Ensure designs comply with environmental regulations and sustainable drainage principles (SuDS).
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, urban planners, and environmental specialists.
• Conduct site investigations and construction supervision for drainage works.
