Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Drainage Civil Engineer for a role based in Benoni, Gauteng, to design stormwater systems and management solutions. You will analyze hydrological data and model hydraulic behavior to support urban drainage projects with a focus on sustainable water management.

The role involves collaboration with developers and planners, ensuring compliance with South African standards, and delivering precise drawings and calculations for approved drainage infrastructures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of drainage/stormwater experience.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS, SWMM) and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Design stormwater drainage systems including open channels, culverts, and detention/retention ponds.
• Conduct hydrological analyses, flood risk assessments, and hydraulic modeling for developments.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and specs for drainage infrastructure.
• Ensure designs comply with bylaws, standards and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with developers, urban planners and construction teams to integrate drainage solutions.
• Perform site investigations and surveys to gather data for design.
