Job summary

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is seeking two Stores Assistants at the Briardene branch. You will support daily branch and warehouse operations, including stock receiving, picking, packing and dispatch processes. You will sign off stock and assist with stock control and customer collections, while ensuring housekeeping and safety standards are followed.

The role requires Matric or equivalent and at least 2 years in a stores/warehouse environment is advantageous. Training and diverse tasks are promised.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent is a must.
• Minimum 2 years in a stores/warehouse environment is an advantage.
• Good product knowledge and familiarity with warehouse processes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving stock, quality checking, handling and packing.
• Assist with dispatching stock and related packing.
• Process orders (picking slips) from Internal sales.
• Ensure correct items/quantities are pulled and sign picking slips.
• Move customer stock/orders to dispatch area.
• Ensure stock control and administration.
• Attend to customers collecting stock/orders.
• Assist with loading/offloading and correct stock allocation.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety per standards.
• Keep stores neat, tidy and secure.

Job description

Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of a Stores Assistant x 2 for the Briardene branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

The purpose of this role is to lead, plan, organise and control the daily operations of the branch and warehouse.

Your areas of responsibility:

• Assist with receiving stock, quality checking, handling, and packing
• Assist with dispatching of stock, quality checking, handling, and packing
• Process orders (picking slips) from Internal sales
• Ensure the correct items and quantities are pulled, and to sign on the picking slips and stock bin cards
• Take customers stock / orders and paperwork to the dispatch area
• If applicable ensure any cable cutting is correct
• Ensure good stock control and administration
• Attend to customers that come in to collect stock / orders
• Assist with loading and offloading of stock and packing in correct stock allocation areas
• Ensure effective housekeeping and safety according to prescribed standards
• Ensure stores are kept neat and tidy
• Ensure that security regulations are always adhered to
• Perform other duties under instruction from the Branch / Stores Manager when required
• Assist with stock taking

Qualifications we are looking for:

• Matric / Equivalent is a MUST
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in a stores / warehouse environment is an ADAVANTAGE
• Good product knowledge
• Knowledge of warehouse processes
• Knowledge of relative safety standards protective clothing
