Job summary

Bidvestfacilitiesmanagement is seeking a Store Assistant to manage hands-on warehouse inventory, including receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipping products in Pretoria, South Africa. About the Role

The Store assistant responsible for the hands‑on management of inventory within a warehouse, encompassing receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate inventory records
• Managing stock levels and replenishment
• Preparing and loading shipments
• Ensuring efficient stock flow and organization Requires strong physical fitness, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under the supervision of a store Supervisor.
• Assist in receiving, handling, and inspecting incoming inventory to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
• Organize and maintain stock levels in storage areas, ensuring all products are correctly labeled and stored.
• Process outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and arranging transportation of goods to customers or other locations.
• Perform regular stocktaking and inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
• Support the team by maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate timely order fulfillment and resolve any inventory‑related issues.
• Utilize inventory management software to update records and track movements of stock efficiently.
• Participate in training and development sessions to enhance skills and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Grade 12/Matric
• Qualification related to Supply Chain and Logistics
• Proven track record in a similar stores or inventory management role, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
• Familiarity with inventory control systems or software, along with basic computer proficiency.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities to address discrepancies and ensure accurate stock management.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, complying with workplace health and safety standards.
• Basic numeracy skills for managing stock levels and conducting audits effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years in administrative roles, basic knowledge of inventory management - Proficient with SAP usage and understanding.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
