Job summary

Bäckerei - German Artisan Sourdough Somerset West is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our flagship store and set operational standards for future locations.

You'll drive daily operations, deliver outstanding customer service, manage stock and staff schedules, and partner with the founders to evolve systems while maintaining our quality and brand experience. This is hands-on leadership in a growing artisan bakery.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years' experience managing a retail, bakery, café or hospitality business.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong customer service and hospitality background.
• Experience conducting stock takes and inventory management.
• Confident with daily cash-ups.
• Comfortable with basic bookkeeping and administrative tasks.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• High attention to detail.
• Positive, professional and solution-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service and create memorable experiences.
• Lead the front of house by example and manage daily store operations.
• Conduct cash-ups and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
• Manage stock control and regular stock takes; place orders as needed.
• Oversee inventory levels and ensure correct deliveries.
• Maintain presentation and cleanliness of the store and coffee shop.
• Manage staff schedules and leave planning; train new team members.
• Implement and maintain company procedures and service standards.
• Assist with basic administrative and bookkeeping tasks.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and monitor performance for improvements.
