Job summary

Recruitment Matters Africa (Pvt) Ltd in Somerset West seeks an experienced Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, drive sales and manage stock and customer service. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to motivate a high-performing team.

You will lead, coach and develop the retail team, monitor KPIs, ensure merchandising standards, and manage supplier relationships, using Excel, POS and retail management systems. Experience with CRM and finance modules is a plus.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 with a relevant higher education qualification.
• Minimum 8 years’ retail experience, preferably in beauty or FMCG.
• Experience managing store operations, sales, stock control and customer service.
• Proven ability leading, coaching, developing and performance-managing retail teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee store operations and ensure excellent customer service while achieving targets.
• Lead and develop the store team through recruitment, training and performance management.
• Monitor sales, expenses, stock, profitability and KPIs; take corrective action as needed.

• Minimum 8 years’ retail experience, preferably within a beauty or FMCG environment.
• Proven experience managing store operations, sales, stock control, customer service, and daily retail activities.
• Strong experience leading, coaching, developing, and performance-managing retail teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overall store operations while ensuring excellent customer service and achievement of sales and profitability targets.
• Lead and develop the store team through recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Monitor sales, expenses, stock levels, profitability, and KPIs, implementing corrective action where required.
• Manage inventory processes, merchandising standards, operational controls, customer queries, supplier relationships, and compliance requirements.
