Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited in Blue Crane is seeking a Store Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in running the store, supervise staff, and drive target achievement.

You will handle stock control, inventory planning, customer service excellence, and daily admin including scheduling, leave, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Retail/FMCG experience across all departments (Receiving, Admin, Cash Office or Sales Floor management).
• Supervisor experience of at least 3 years.
• 2 years’ experience with SAP / QlikView / Unisolv.
• Previous experience with Kronos.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with daily store operations.
• Manage day-to-day HR admin including leave, hours and scheduling.
• Manage orders daily and maintain correct stock levels.
• Manage stock flow to floor and coordinate stock takes biannually.
• Regulate customer compliments and complaints and address requests promptly.
• Ensure merchandisers adhere to Dis-Chem merchandising standards and pricing layout.

Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Store Assistant Manager for their Store in Blue Crane .Assist the Store Manager with complete operation of the store. Manage employees and be responsible for store targets. Maintain inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels – anticipating customer demand. Prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Minimum of 5 years Retail/FMCG –Experience in all retail departments –Receiving, Administration, Cash Office or Sales Floor Management.
• Supervisor: Minimum of 3 years
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Unisolv / SAP / Qlikview
• Previous experience with Kronos

Advantageous:

• Relevant retail/FMCG qualification

Job Description:

• Manage day-to-day human resource administration including, but not limited to, leave, hours of work and scheduling
• Manage the performance management process and ensure that personal development plans are adhered to
• Manage and ensure all orders are done on a daily basis, no time, and maintain correct stock levels
• Manage stock flow to floor
• Prepare, coordinate and manage stock takes on a biannual basis, in conjunction with the Store Admin Manager
• Manage shrinkage
• Regulate customer compliments and complaints
• Ensure customer requests and complaints are addressed timeously
• Ensure all merchandisers adhere to Dis-Chem merchandising standards
• Ensure promotional stock and displays are planned, implemented and maintained
• Adhere to all labelling, pricing and layout standards, and ensure that merchandisers adhere to these standards
• Ensure all store objectives are achieved

Competencies

Essential:

• Store retail admin and management experience, relating to receiving, admin, capturing, till operations, cash office, stock control, sales floor and customer service
• Strong command of the English language
• Basic financial skills - GP, mark-up, VAT, etc
• Effective interaction with suppliers, management, reps and staff
• Strong analytical skills and time management
• Manage, develop and motivate subordinates
• Trustworthy and honest
