Job summary

Harsco Rail in Pretoria is seeking a maintenance technician to carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on the Stoneblower Fleet, with a focus on maximizing machine availability and reliability.

You will perform fault finding, servicing, and documentation, and work with field service engineers to ensure compliance with 5S and safety standards, contributing to uninterrupted MoW operations.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
• Preferred recognised qualification as mechanical/electrical/maintenance engineer.
• Knowledge of rail plant operating and maintenance standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on the Stoneblower Fleet.
• Maximise machine availability and reliability.
• Report defects and carry out repairs as directed by field service engineer or supervisor.
• Ensure planned maintenance is completed per company policies and procedures.
• Maintain 5S in the depot and accurate maintenance documentation.
• Order parts timely and keep team informed of issues.
