Job summary

Harsco Rail in Pretoria, South Africa, seeks a dedicated OTM Technician to drive, operate and maintain the Stoneblower fleet, ensuring high machine availability and adherence to health, safety and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities include performing daily maintenance, calibrations and repairs, reporting defects, and maintaining documentation per VMI. The role requires track safety qualifications, hands-on maintenance experience and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Mandatory qualifications include Track safety qualification (PTS, DP), Manual handling, Emergency first aid, Fire awareness, Health & Safety.
• Essential competencies include Psychometric test and TDL; Functional Skills at Level 2 (communication, planning, organising, prioritising, safety); Technical skills at Level 1 (hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical systems; calibration and fault finding).

Responsibilities

• Report defects found on machine and carry out repairs within required competency level.
• Complete tasks in accordance with the Vehicle Maintenance Instruction (VMI).
• Assist Stoneblower Service Technician with required tasks.
• Carry out duties in line with company policies, procedures and work instructions.
• Ensure working environment is maintained as required by 5S.
