Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking a highly organised Stock Controller to manage inventory across our Food, Beverage, and Rooms departments. This hands-on role ensures accurate stock control, proper storage, and efficient issuing of goods while complying with hygiene standards and procurement procedures.

You will reconcile inventory, coordinate stock takes, and support finance and audits, collaborating with the Hotel Controller, Executive Chef, and department heads.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in stock control, inventory management, or a related role.
• Experience in hospitality inventory management (food, beverage, rooms) preferred.
• Proficiency in inventory control software (e.g., Materials Control, Pilot).
• Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and organisational ability.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels across all hotel departments with regular reconciliations.
• Review departmental requisitions and issue stock with proper documentation.
• Maintain storeroom operations ensuring hygiene, safety, and FIFO compliance.
• Coordinate monthly and ad hoc stock takes and investigate variances.
• Maintain records in inventory systems and support audit processes.
• Act as the point of contact for stock-related queries from operational departments.
• Collaborate with the Hotel Controller, Executive Chef, F&B Manager, Executive Housekeeper, and General Manager.

What You’ll Do

• Manage inventory levels across all hotel departments, ensuring accuracy through regular reconciliations.
• Review departmental requisitions and issue stock efficiently with proper documentation.
• Maintain storeroom operations, ensuring hygiene, safety, and compliance with FIFO principles.
• Coordinate monthly and ad hoc stock takes and investigate variances or losses.
• Maintain accurate records in inventory systems and support finance and audit processes.
