Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd in Modimolle is seeking a meticulous Stock Controller to keep storerooms organized and ensure Field Operations and Fibre Teams are well supplied. The role focuses on accurate stock handling, label/barcode processes, and timely issuance of materials.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years in a stock room, a Grade 12, and strong reporting skills. A valid driver’s licence and good communication are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• Two to three years of stock room experience.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Report writing experience.
• Intermediate Excel and Word skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a technical mindset.
• Good customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
• A team player who deals professionally with people in all situations.

Responsibilities

• Receive stock from suppliers via courier, direct delivery, and self collection.
• Check incoming stock and book it into the stock system, including labelling and barcoding.
• Sort and pack storerooms to keep everything in order.
• Issue stock to Field Operations and Fibre Technicians.
• Oversee and assist with issuing stock and transferring it to mobile warehouses (bakkies) in the accounting system.
• Manage returns to suppliers for faulty items or incorrect orders.
• Manage and report on write offs, faulty stock, end of life stock, and dead stock.
• Maintain the stock system, including creating new items and processing journals.
• Conduct stock takes and produce count and movement reports.
