Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Theatre Production Assistant to support live performances in Upington. You will help with lighting, sound, set construction, and stage management, collaborating with directors, designers, and performers to realize creative visions on stage.

The role offers hands-on experience in a dedicated arts organization within the Northern Cape and requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as production schedules demand.

Qualifications

Experience or demonstrable interest in technical theatre production, stagecraft, or related fields.
Basic understanding of lighting, sound systems, and stage operations.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of lighting, sound, and stage equipment for performances and rehearsals.
Support stage management duties, including cueing, scene changes, and backstage coordination.
Collaborate with technical directors and designers on production requirements and implementation.
Participate in set construction, scenic painting, and prop management as needed.
Ensure all technical equipment is functioning safely and effectively, reporting any issues promptly.
