Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Sports Facility Operations Manager in Bloemfontein to oversee day-to-day operations of sports facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellent user experiences for athletes and visitors. You’ll manage budgets, coordinate maintenance, supervise staff, and ensure regulatory compliance in a premier sports complex.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably within a sports or large venue context.
• Proven budget management experience and staff supervision.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, groundskeeping, and safety protocols.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
• Relevant degree or certification in Facilities Management or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of daily facility operations, including sports fields, courts, gyms, and common areas.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and cleaning schedules, coordinating with external contractors as needed.
• Manage operational budgets, including expenditures for utilities, supplies, and capital improvements.
• Supervise and train operational staff, including maintenance personnel and event support teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards, conducting regular inspections.
• Liaise with sports leagues, event organizers, and user groups to meet their operational needs.
