Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Sports Facilities Technician to maintain and manage our sports venues in Soweto. You will perform groundskeeping, equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and ensure safety and readiness for athletes and community use.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail‑oriented, and familiar with various sports surfaces and basic trades. You will work in a busy leisure and sports environment, supporting events, routine inspections, and compliance with health and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance preferred.
• Proven experience in facility maintenance, groundskeeping, or similar hands-on role.
• Knowledge of maintenance requirements for sports surfaces and equipment.
• Basic skills in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry for minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on sports fields, courts, and facilities.
• Ensure equipment is safe, functional, and properly stored.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs.

About the Role
