Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Sports Event Operations Assistant to aid in planning and executing diverse sporting events in Upington. You will assist with venue prep, participant registration, equipment handling, and on-site support, gaining practical experience in a dynamic events environment.

Ideal candidates are organized, communicative, team-oriented, and flexible for weekends and evenings. This role offers valuable exposure to event operations and networking within the sports industry.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in event support or coordination is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of event venues, including signage and equipment.
• Support participant registration processes and manage on-site check-ins.
• Help manage sports equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
• Provide on-site support during events, assisting staff and addressing participant queries.
• Assist with coordinating volunteers and ensuring smooth event flow.
• Help prepare event materials and documentation as required.
