About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing insurance brokerage, is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Specialty Liability Insurance Broker to join their established team in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth). This role focuses on identifying, developing, and placing complex liability insurance risks for a diverse clientele, including professional indemnity, directors & officers (D&O), cyber liability, and public liability. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique exposures and securing the most appropriate coverage from a range of insurance markets. This is a client-facing role requiring strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Based in our Gqeberha office, you will have direct access to market expertise and collaborative support from colleagues. We are looking for an individual with a passion for specialty insurance lines and a proven ability to manage a client portfolio effectively. Your expertise will be critical in navigating the intricacies of liability insurance and delivering tailored solutions that protect our clients' businesses from significant financial risks. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of specialty liability insurance clients.
• Identify client needs and market opportunities for liability insurance products.
• Source appropriate insurance coverage from various domestic and international markets.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and premiums with insurers to achieve optimal client outcomes.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on risk management and liability exposures.
• Prepare and present insurance proposals and quotations to prospective and existing clients.
• Service existing accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
• Stay abreast of developments in specialty liability insurance markets, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including claims and risk control, to provide comprehensive client solutions.
• Maintain accurate client records and transaction details within the brokerage management system.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance brokerage, with a strong focus on specialty liability lines (e.g., PI, D&O, Cyber, PL).
• Proven track record in sales, client relationship management, and business development within the insurance sector.
• In-depth understanding of specialty liability insurance products, market appetite, and underwriting principles.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze complex risks and formulate effective insurance solutions.
• Proficiency in brokerage management systems and MS Office Suite.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or professional insurance certification (e.g., NQF Level 4/5 FAIS accredited) is highly desirable.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel as required.
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to client best interests.
• This role requires full-time presence in our Gqeberha office.
