Job summary

Simera Sense seeks an Optomechanical AIT Engineer to assemble, integrate and test advanced optical and mechanical systems for space missions. You will lead AIT activities, maintain documentation, and ensure strict quality and performance standards.

The role involves CAD work for AIT hardware/MGSE, GD&T, and close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. On-site position in Somerset West, SA, with potential for growth in a fast-growing space tech company.

Qualifications

• 0–5 years in mechanical/optomechanical roles, preferably in space/defence/regulated industries.
• Very high attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support assembly, integration and testing of high precision optomechanical systems for spaceborne applications.
• Maintain detailed records of all assembly, integration and testing activities.
• Generate and maintain procedures, test plans and test reports; manage CAD of AIT hardware and MGSE; GD&T on designs.
