Job summary

African Echoes Recruitment is partnering with a luxury safari lodge in Bela Bela, Limpopo to recruit an experienced Spa Manager. You will oversee day-to-day spa operations, maintain pristine standards, manage bookings, staff rosters and treatment allocation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in spa/wellness, with management experience, stock control, and upselling. You will lead a small team in a remote lodge, work weekends, and drive monthly revenue while delivering personalised guest

Qualifications

  • Nationally recognised qualification in Somatology, Beauty Therapy, Spa Therapy or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-year qualification preferred
  • ITEC, CIDESCO, CIBTAC or equivalent internationally recognised qualification advantageous
  • Massage therapy qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the spa/wellness industry
  • Minimum 2 years' management or supervisory experience
  • Luxury hotel, lodge, resort or destination spa experience strongly preferred
  • Safari lodge experience advantageous
  • Proven experience managing a team and working against revenue targets
  • Experience with stock control, ordering and spa booking/POS systems
  • Experience in retail sales and upselling
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Commercially driven, guest-focused and financially aware
  • Professionally presented and passionate about wellness
  • Comfortable working in a remote safari-lodge environment
  • Able to work weekends and public holidays
  • First Aid qualification advantageous
  • Valid Driver's Licence advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the spa
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation and organisation
  • Manage bookings, therapist schedules and treatment allocation
  • Ensure treatments are performed according to approved protocols
  • Deliver personalised and memorable guest experiences
  • Conduct professional consultations and recommend suitable treatments
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly
  • Drive monthly spa revenue and monitor financial performance
  • Track treatment occupancy and therapist productivity
  • Drive upselling, cross-selling and retail sales
  • Develop promotions, packages and seasonal spa campaigns
  • Promote the spa through guest interactions and lodge communication channels
  • Recruit, train, develop and manage spa therapists
  • Prepare staff schedules and conduct regular staff briefings
  • Monitor staff performance and set individual sales targets
  • Maintain accurate stock control and conduct regular stock counts
  • Monitor product usage, ordering, wastage and stock losses
  • Ensure cash-up and payment procedures are followed
  • Manage spa expenses within the approved budget
  • Develop and maintain spa SOPs and treatment standards
  • Conduct treatment audits and identify training requirements
  • Lead by example and remain hands-on with treatments when required

PACKAGE
  • Salary: R15,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience
  • Performance-based incentive structure
