Placements24 in Soweto is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Drafter to translate engineering concepts into precise drawings for manufacturing. You will work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of all components and assemblies.

The role offers opportunities to work on varied projects within a supportive engineering environment in Gauteng, using AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce 2D and 3D models, BOMs, and revision control.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven drafting experience as a Mechanical Design Drafter.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings of mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
• Assist engineers in developing BOMs and revision control.
• Review drawings for accuracy and adherence to drafting standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to resolve drafting issues.
