Job summary

Centrax Digital is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to design integrated, defensible solutions spanning Zoho One, custom development, AI, cloud infrastructure and security. You will produce architecture documents for each engagement and guide delivery teams to align with the architecture.

You’ll lead architectural decisions, review work for adherence, design POPIA-aware data flows, and mentor senior consultants. Hybrid work and client travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/SE or related field; post-graduate IT/business qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years in software delivery, with at least 3 years in solution design or architecture.
• Experience designing solutions across SaaS, custom code and integrations.
• Experience leading technical conversations with senior client stakeholders.
• Zoho Architect or equivalent certification preferred; cloud and SAFe/TOGAF certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce solution architecture documents covering business, application, integration and data architecture and security baseline.
• Support pre-sales by sizing solution effort, spotting delivery risks and reviewing proposals.
• Make architectural decisions and record them in an architectural decision register per engagement.
• Review consultants’ and developers’ work for adherence to architecture; course-correct as needed.
• Design POPIA-aware solutions; document data flows, residency, retention and access controls.
• Design integrations between Zoho One and ERP, accounting, banking, payment and identity platforms.
• Provide architectural input on AI solution design with the AI Practice on safe, evaluable builds.
• Maintain Centrax reference architectures, integration patterns and security baselines.
• Mentor senior consultants on architectural thinking and decision documentation.

You design the end-to-end technical solution across an engagement and own the architectural decisions that hold it together.

THE ROLE

To design integrated, defensible solutions that span Zoho One, custom development, AI, cloud infrastructure, and security.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Produce solution architecture documents for every engagement, covering business, application, integration, and data architecture and the security baseline.
• Support pre-sales by sizing solution effort, identifying delivery risks, and reviewing solution proposals before they go to the client.
• Make architectural decisions and record them in an architectural decision register on each engagement.
• Review the work of consultants and developers against the architecture and course-correct deviations.
• Design POPIA-aware solutions by default, documenting data flows, residency, retention, and access controls.
• Design integrations between Zoho One and third-party systems including ERP, accounting, banking, payment, and identity platforms.
• Provide architectural input on AI solution design, working with the AI Practice on safe, evaluable AI builds.
• Maintain the Centrax reference architectures, integration patterns, and security baselines.
• Mentor senior consultants on architectural thinking and decision documentation.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field. A post-graduate qualification in IT or Business is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in software delivery, with at least 3 years in a solution design or architecture role.
• Experience designing solutions across multiple platforms: SaaS, custom code, and integrations.
• Experience leading the technical conversation with senior client stakeholders.
• Zoho Architect or equivalent platform certification preferred. TOGAF Foundation, SAFe Architect, or a cloud architecture certification is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform, of LLM application patterns and RAG, and of the CAIF-5 framework or a comparable AI delivery methodology.
• Consulting environment experience delivering to external clients. Financial services, public sector, healthcare, telecommunications, or large enterprise experience is an advantage.

WHERE THE BOUNDARIES SIT

Delivery governance sits with the Project Manager and delivery leadership. Heavy custom build sits with the Zoho Developer and Software Developer.

HOW THIS ROLE EVOLVES

Centrax is concurrently advertising a Solutions and Pre-Sales Lead (JH01), a composite role that holds architecture authority and major pursuit pre-sales in one seat until dedicated appointments are made. Candidates for this position may also be considered for that one. Progression from this role runs through Senior Solution Architect to Principal Architect.

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

Standard working hours of 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with flexibility expected around critical project milestones. Hybrid working in line with company policy. Travel to client sites is expected, including occasional travel within South Africa and to the Texas office where engagements require it. Standard 21 days annual leave and BCEA leave entitlements apply.

REMUNERATION

Market related, commensurate with experience.
