Job summary

Solar Lane is seeking an experienced Solar Sales Representative to drive new business from Hermanus and expand the customer base in the Western Cape. The role focuses on generating opportunities, building relationships with installers and businesses, and driving sales of solar products and solutions.

This full-time position offers a competitive base salary with high commission-earning potential, and opportunities to grow within a rapidly expanding solar distribution company.

Qualifications

• Experience in solar sales and proven track record
• At least 1 year solar sales experience
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to generate and develop own leads
• Based in Hermanus or willing to work full-time from Hermanus

Responsibilities

• Generate and develop new sales opportunities within the solar market
• Source and build relationships with new and existing customers
• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable solar products
• Prepare and follow up on quotations
• Negotiate with customers and close sales
• Maintain strong relationships with installers, contractors, businesses and other industry clients
• Manage your own sales pipeline and follow up on leads
• Meet and exceed monthly sales targets

Solar Lane is a Cape Town-based solar energy company specialising in the distribution of solar power equipment and solutions. We supply quality solar products to installers, EPCs and businesses across South Africa.

We are looking for an experienced and driven Solar Sales Representative to join our team in Hermanus and help expand our customer base and sales pipeline.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, developing customer relationships and driving sales of solar products and solutions.

This is a target-driven, full-time sales position offering a competitive basic salary with high commission-earning potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate and develop new sales opportunities within the solar and renewable energy market
• Source and build relationships with new and existing customers
• Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable solar products
• Prepare and follow up on quotations
• Negotiate with customers and close sales
• Maintain strong relationships with installers, contractors, businesses and other industry clients
• Manage your own sales pipeline and follow up on leads

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven sales experience within the solar industry – essential
• Minimum 1 year of solar sales experience
• Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to source and develop your own leads
• Strong customer relationship-building skills
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Highly motivated, proactive and target-driven
• Must be based in or willing to work full-time from Hermanus
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle would be advantageous
