About the Role

You will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, and technical specifications of photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer solar PV systems, including array layouts, component selection, and electrical schematics.

• Develop technical documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOM), single-line diagrams, and installation guides.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., SANS, NEC).
• Collaborate with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Stay current with advancements in solar technology, products, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in the design of solar PV systems for various applications.
• Proficiency with solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD).
• Solid understanding of solar components, inverters, battery storage, and grid-tie systems.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and permitting requirements for solar installations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
