About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Solar PV Design Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to innovative solar energy projects from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for the conceptualization and detailed design of photovoltaic systems, from small-scale residential installations to large commercial and utility-scale projects. Your expertise will be crucial in translating client requirements and site conditions into efficient, cost-effective, and compliant solar energy solutions, making a tangible impact on the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed system designs for solar PV installations, including single-line diagrams, array layouts, and component specifications.
• Perform site assessments and analyze electrical plans, shading reports, and structural considerations.
• Calculate energy production estimates and system performance using specialized software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes, industry standards, and client specifications.
• Collaborate with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design reports and bill of materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
