Job summary

Jobtailor in Cape Town is building production software for AgTech, delivering AI-enhanced solutions to farmers and decision-makers. You will work across the stack with Python/Django REST Framework and React/TypeScript, applying ML tech including Hugging Face and Vision Transformers.

Join a fast-moving team in person three days a week to ship impactful software for agricultural operations, with AWS infrastructure and modern tooling powering the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, CS or related field required.
• Proven experience building production software systems.
• Strong problem solving and independent initiative in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Proficiency with Python, Django REST Framework, React/TypeScript stack.
• Experience with ML tools like Hugging Face and Vision Transformers is a plus.

• Collaborate closely with the product team to understand users and prioritize desired features

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience solving complex technical problems at tech and product-driven companies
• Practical experience building production software systems
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline)
• Highly proactive and critical approach to problem solving
• Ability to work independently and take initiative from idea to execution
• Ability to move fast in loosely defined environments with competing priorities or deadlines
• Ability to balance technical exploration with practical delivery
• Proficiency in the stated technologies
• Some experience with relational databases
• Ambition and strong motivation to make an impact in AgTech
• Ability to work in-person with the team 3 days a week
