Job summary

Ovations Talent Sourcing is seeking an experienced BPM / Workflow Software Developer for a Sandton-based hybrid role. The contract runs for 12 months with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

The candidate will translate designs into robust solutions, mentor other developers, and deliver BPMN/DMN modelling, workflow orchestration, and Camunda-based integrations across microservices and REST APIs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' software development with Java 11+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, JSON.
• 5+ years' experience in Business Process Analysis.
• Hands-on with IBM BPM/BAW or Camunda 7/8 (BPMN/DMN modelling, workflow orchestration).
• Experience with Kafka/Confluent and event streaming.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD, particularly Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• 2+ years' experience analysing processes and identifying automation opportunities.

Responsibilities

WE ARE HIRING: BPM / WORKFLOW SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Location: Sandton, Johannesburg – Hybrid

Contract: 12 Months

We are looking for an experienced BPM / Workflow Software Developer to translate detailed designs into robust solutions through programming and configuration, while providing guidance and mentoring to other developers.

Key Requirements

5+ years' software development experience with:

• Java 11+
• Spring Boot
• REST APIs
• Microservices
• JSON

5+ years' practical experience in Business Process Analysis.

Strong hands‑on experience with IBM BPM / BAW or Camunda 7/8, including:

• BPMN / DMN modelling
• Workflow automation & orchestration
• Camunda Modeler
• External Task Workers
• Incident handling
• Deployment & monitoring
• Custom UI integration

Practical experience with Kafka / Confluent and event streaming, including publishing and consuming events.

Experience with Git and CI/CD, particularly Azure DevOps Pipelines.

2+ years' experience analysing processes and identifying automation opportunities.
