Placements24 is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Family Services team in Centurion, Gauteng. You will provide support, counseling, and intervention for families facing challenges, including child welfare and domestic issues, and collaborate with schools and health services.

The ideal candidate holds a BSW and SACSSP registration with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in family social work or child welfare.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Registered with the SACSSP.
• Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in family social work or child welfare.
• Proven experience in assessments, counseling, and case management.
• Excellent communication, active listening and empathetic engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of family needs and circumstances.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling.
• Develop and implement intervention plans to address identified family issues.
• Offer crisis intervention and support during times of family distress.
• Liaise with schools, healthcare providers, legal services, and other community agencies.
• Facilitate referrals to appropriate support services and resources.
• Prepare detailed case reports, maintain accurate records, and document all interventions.
• Advocate for the rights and needs of children and vulnerable family members.
• Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Stay updated on relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work.
