Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Social Worker specializing in Family Services to support the Klerksdorp community. The role blends in-person client work with remote administrative tasks and tele-therapy sessions, promoting family stability and well-being.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Social Work, SACSSP registration, and at least 4 years of post-graduate experience in family services or clinical social work, with strong empathy and crisis intervention skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of 4 years of post-graduate experience in family services or clinical social work.
• Proficiency in conducting both in-person and virtual client assessments and counseling.
• Strong knowledge of child protection laws and family support systems in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of families and individuals.
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.
• Develop and implement intervention plans to address identified family needs and challenges.
• Facilitate access to community resources, support programs, and essential services for families.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case files and client records.
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as educators, healthcare providers, and legal services.
