About the Role

Our client, a dedicated charitable organization focused on youth empowerment in Tembisa , is actively seeking a dynamic and empathetic Social Program Facilitator. This position is critical for delivering engaging and impactful programs designed to support the development and well-being of young individuals in the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and facilitating various group activities, workshops, and one-on-one sessions. This role requires a compassionate individual with a passion for youth development and a proven ability to connect with and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds. The position is based in Tembisa, Gauteng , and requires a full-time commitment to on-site program delivery, ensuring consistent support and engagement within the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and deliver engaging programs and workshops for youth, focusing on life skills, educational support, and personal development in Tembisa .
• Facilitate group discussions, activities, and one-on-one mentoring sessions with young participants.
• Assess the needs of youth participants and adapt program content accordingly.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with youth, providing guidance and support.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, schools, and other community stakeholders to ensure holistic support for participants.
• Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, progress, and any challenges encountered.
• Assist in the development of program materials and resources tailored to the Tembisa youth demographic.
• Identify potential risks or safeguarding concerns and report them according to organizational policy.
• Contribute to program evaluation and reporting processes, providing insights into program effectiveness.
• Represent the organization positively within the Tembisa community.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Youth Development, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2-3 years of experience working directly with youth, preferably in a facilitating or mentoring capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering engaging youth programs.
• Excellent group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young people.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviors and create a safe, inclusive environment.
• Familiarity with the social and economic context of Tembisa and its surrounding areas.
• Strong report-writing and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as program needs dictate.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.
• A police clearance certificate will be required.
