Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join their SOC team in Stellenbosch. The role focuses on monitoring, detecting and responding to cyber threats in real-time to protect the organization's digital assets.

You will analyze security alerts, investigate incidents and contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC processes while working with cutting-edge security technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT or related field.
• 2–4 years in a SOC or security monitoring role.
• Experience analyzing security logs, network traffic and threat data.
• Hands-on with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar), IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.
• Knowledge of attack vectors, malware, and security frameworks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other tools; perform initial triage.
• Investigate security incidents; gather evidence and document findings.
• Analyze threat intel to identify risks and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and refine detection rules and alerts.
• Collaborate with incident response to contain threats.
• Help improve SOC processes, procedures and tools.
