Job summary

City of Ekurhuleni is seeking a Senior Technical Assistant in Water Services Development Planning to support the engineering department with technical and field work within the assigned area.

The role requires Grade 12, a Diploma in Civil Engineering (NQF 6), 1–3 years’ experience, and a valid driver's license, with emphasis on safety compliance and cost-conscious project support.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification required.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering (NQF 6) required.
• 1–3 years’ relevant environment experience.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the specialist practice community and contributes, where possible, to organisational knowledge management.
• Assist with the implementation of engineering activities for the department.
• Adhere to all safety standards as per practice and process requirements.
• Assist with implementation of engineering activities for the department and maintenance of technical system and technology.
• Escalate unresolved delivery and quality issues to operational management and process owners.
• Keep up to date with legislation associated with engineering activities.
• Manage costs for new and upgraded connections and network reticulation to ensure the enhancement of service levels agreement within area of accountability.
• Adhere to Batho Pele principles.
• Ensure the culture of excellence service delivery is attained and maintained.
